ORIGIN STORY ACT I:
Military Leadership
There are people who talk about discipline, and there are people who've had it forged into them at altitude, under pressure, with real consequences.
David Befort is the latter.
After graduating from the United States Air Force Academy in 2003, David went on to earn his wings as a fighter pilot eventually flying the A-10 Warthog, one of the most demanding and specialized single-seat aircraft in the U.S. arsenal. He deployed to Afghanistan three times, providing close air support to ground troops from allied nations flying low, engaging the enemy with precision, and bringing people home who might not have made it otherwise.
Over 21 years in uniform, David lived around the world, worked alongside the militaries of allied nations, and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. The skills that made him effective in the cockpit - situational awareness, contingency planning, calm under pressure, and the discipline to execute when others freeze are the same skills that shaped everything he would build afterward.
ORIGIN STORY ACT II:
Reinvention
Most people change careers once in their lifetime. David ran multiple careers simultaneously. After separating from active duty in 2014, he spent a brief time in corporate America before realizing the environment didn't fit the way he was built. He walked away from a comfortable corporate career to enter the unknown.
David didn't slow down, he accelerated. In the next few years he decided to put the uniform on again and serve in the Minnesota Air National Guard, launched a real estate investment business, transitioned into commercial aviation as an airline pilot, and began building a financial education practice on the side. For the last decade he’s been running multiple businesses and careers at the same time.
In 2021, he stepped away from the cockpit entirely to pursue his businesses full time, and in 2025 retired from the Air National Guard after completing 21 years of total service.
Three complete career reinventions. Four years. Zero financial crisis.
That wasn't luck. It wasn't a windfall or an inheritance. It was the direct result of implementing the same financial strategies David now teaches his clients, the Infinite Banking Concept and the principles of becoming your own banker. He didn't learn these concepts after his success. He used them to create it.
ORIGIN STORY ACT III:
The Mission Has Changed, the Standard Hasn't
Today, David runs multiple businesses - a venture fund, a community wealth-building organization with over 1,500 members, a top-10% podcast, and a financial practice that has made him one of the top life insurance producers in the country. He has helped his clients accumulate over $400 million in death benefit using the strategies rooted in Nelson Nash's Becoming Your Own Banker.
But the mission underneath all of it hasn't changed since his days in the cockpit: help people get home safe.
For his clients, "getting home safe" means building a financial life that doesn't depend on Wall Street, doesn't get wiped out by market crashes, and doesn't leave their family exposed. It means having the capital and the control to make moves when opportunity shows up, not when the market gives you permission.
David teaches the Infinite Banking Concept not because he read about it in a book.
He teaches it because he lived it through one of the most demanding and unconventional career trajectories you'll ever encounter and came out the other side with proof that it works.
Whole PErson
David lives in Minnesota with his wife Hannah and their seven children (4 boys, 3 girls). On any given weekend you'll find him on a sideline somewhere, cheering for a kid in a jersey. When he's not building businesses or educating clients, he travels with Hannah, stays physically active, and invests deeply in community with other men around shared faith.
He believes that wealth is only worth building if it funds a life worth living and he works every day to make sure that's exactly what he and his family are doing.
